【摘要】:1.1Theserequirementscoverstationaryaboveground(indoororoutdooruse)atmosphericnon-metallictypestoragetanksintendedforthestorageofoilburnerfuel(#2fueloil)havingcapacitiesof60to330gallons(227-1200L)total.1.2Theserequirementscovernon-metallictanksconsistingofthefollowinggeneralconstructions:Type1-Non-metallicprimarytankType2-Non-metallicprimarytankwithfirejacketType3-Non-metallicprimarytankwithinnon-metallicdikedtankType4-Non-metallicprimarytankwithinmetallicdikedtankType5-Non-metallicprimarytankwithinnon-metallicsecondarytankType6-Non-metallicprimarytankwithinmetallicsecondarytank1.3Non-metallicoiltankscoveredbytheserequirementsareintendedforinstallationandusainaccordancewiththeStandardfortheInstallationofOil-BurningEquipment,NFPA31.1.4Non-metallictankscoveredbytheserequirementsarefabricated,inspected,andtestedforleakagebeforeshipmentfromthefactoryascompletelyassembledunits,orwithinstructionsforfieldassemblyofminorcomponents.1.5Theserequirementsdonotcoversteeltanks.TanksofthisconstructionarecoveredbytheStandardforSteelUndergroundTanksforFlammableandCombustibleLiquids-UL58,theStandardforSteelTanksforOilBurnerFuel-UL80,ortheStandardforSteelAbovegroundTanksforFlammableandCombustibleLiquids-UL142.1.6Theserequirementsdcnotcoverfiberglasstanks.TanksofthisconstructionarecoveredbytheStandardforGlass-Fiber-ReinforcedPlasticUndergroundStorageTanksforPetroleumProducts,Alcohols,andAlcohol-GasolineMixtures-UL1316.1.7Theserequirementsdonotcovercompositetanksorjacketedtanks.TanksofthisconstructionarecoveredbytheStandardforExternalCorrosionProtectionSystemsforSteelUndergroundStorageTanks-UL1746.1.8Theserequirementsdonotcoverliquidleveldevices,overpressuredevices,monitors,shutoffvalves,orotherindividualmechanicalorelectricalaccessoriesorcomponentswhicharenotanintegralpartof,orarerecommendedforusewith,thenon-metallictank.TherequirementsforthesedevicesarecoveredunderseparateStandardsreferencedinAppendixA.1.9Theterm"non-metallictank"or"tanksystem"asusedinthisOutlineofInvestigationraferstothecompletetankwithallcomponents(primarywithsecondary,dikeorjacket)ofatanksystem,oranypartthereofcoveredbythisOutlineofInvestigationunlessspecificallynotedotherwise.1.10Aproductthatcontainsfeatures,characteristics,components,materials,orsystemsnewordifferentfromthosecoveredbytherequirementsinthisOutlineofInvestigation,andthatinvolvesariskoffire,electrioshock,orinjurytopersonsshallbeevaluatedusingtheappropriateadditionalcomponentandend-productrequirementstodeterminethatthelevelofsafetyasoriginallyanticipatedbytheintentofthisOutlineofInvestigationismaintained.Aproductwhosefeatures,charecteristics,components,materials,orsystemsconflictwithspecificrequirementsorprovisionsofthisOutlineofInvestigationshallnotbejudgedtocomplywiththisOutlineofInvestigation.Whereappropriate,revisionofrequirementsshallbeproposedandadoptedinconformancewiththemethodsemployedfordevelopment,revision,andimplementationofthisOutlineofInvestigation.
