【摘要】:Waterisknowntopenetratewoodsubstrates,causingdimensionalinstabilityandeventualdeterioration.Clearwaterrepellentcoatingsaredesignedtoprotectwoodfromdamagingeffectsofwater.Thistestmethodisusedtoevaluatetheeffectivenessofwaterrepellentcoatingsonwoodsoonafterapplicationorafterlong-termexteriorexposure.1.1Thistestmethodevaluatestheeffectivenessofclearwaterrepellentcoatingsonwoodbeforeorafterexteriorexposure.1.2Intralaboratoryresultswiththistestmethodcanbeusedtocomparetheeffectivenessofclearwaterrepellentcoatings.Theagreementbetweenresultsobtainedindifferentlaboratoriesmaybelesssatisfactoryunlessaknownwaterrepellentisusedasareference.1.3Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
