【摘要】:p>ThisguideprovidesinformationtoassistengineerswiththedesignrequirementsandconstructionguidelinesforpavinganOpen-GradedFrictionCourse(OGFC)surfacelayer.AnOGFCisprimarilyusedtoimprovetheskidresistanceandwearresistanceofabituminouspavementbyprovidinganescaperouteforsurfacewaterbeneathamovingwheelload.Themixtureistypicallyproducedwithalowamountoffineaggregateparticlesandhighairvoidcontenttoprovideapassagewayofinterconnectedvoidsformoisturetodrainawayfromthetravelway.Thefilmthicknessoftheasphaltandoverallasphaltcontentisimportantforbetterstrippingresistanceanddurabilityandagingproperties.Note18212;OGFCsmayalsobeplacedtoreducethetire-pavementinterfacenoiseandmayalsobeplacedtoreducetheoccurrenceandseverityofreflectivecracking.1.1Thisguidecoverstheconstructionofbituminousopen-gradedfrictioncourseplantmixtures.End-usespecificationsshouldbeadoptedtoconformtojobanduserrequirements.Whereapplicable,SpecificationD3666shouldbeappliedasaminimumforagenciestestingandinspectingroadandpavingmaterials.1.2Bituminousopen-gradedfrictioncoursesareplacedasthefinalwearingcourseforhighwaysandairfields.1.3ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.
