【摘要】:1.1Thispracticedescribesgeneralultrasonictestingproceduresforthedetectionofdiscontinuitiesintheweldandadjacentheataffectedzonesofweldedpipeandtubingbyscanningwithrelativemotionbetweenthesearchunitandpipeortube.Whencontactorunfocusedimmersionsearchunitsareemployed,thispracticeisintendedfortubularproductshavingspecifiedoutsidediametersx2265;2in.(x2265;50mm)andspecifiedwallthicknessesof1/8to11/16in.(3to27mm).Whenproperlyfocusedimmersionsearchunitsareemployed,thispracticemayalsobeappliedtomaterialofsmallerdiameterandthinnerwall.Note18212;Whencontactorunfocusedimmersionsearchunitsareused,precautionsshouldbeexercisedwhenexaminingpipesortubesnearthelowerspecifiedlimits.Certaincombinationsofsearchunitsize,frequency,thinx2013;wallthicknesses,andsmalldiameterscouldcausegenerationofunwantedsoundwavesthatmayproduceerroneousexaminationresults.1.2Allsurfacesofmaterialtobeexaminedinaccordancewiththispracticeshallbecleanfromscale,dirt,burrs,slag,spatterorotherconditionsthatwouldinterferewiththeexaminationresults.Theconfigurationoftheweldmustbesuchthatinterferingsignalsarenotgeneratedbyreflectionsfromit.Treatmentoftheinnersurfaceandoutersurfaceweldbeadssuchastrimming(x201C;scarfingx201D;)orrollingisoftenrequiredtoremoveprotuberancesthatcouldresultinspuriousreflections.1.3Thispracticedoesnotestablishacceptancecriteria,theymustbespecifiedbytheusingparties.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.TheSIequivalentsareinparenthesesandmaybeapproximate.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
